Inspiration | Rag & Bone's DIY Project

This project, which I have just discovered, was apparently held a while ago. I think I'm an information junkie, so I never stopped wondering why everyone else were able to obtain information before I do. Or maybe I'm just a late developer. Or maybe I should spend more time on Facebook rather than (awesome) online teen magazines like Rookie (which I've been obsessed with... These girls totally tickled my undercover fangirl side.)

Speaking of Rag & Bone though, this DIY Project blew my mind away not only because of the girls we all  love but because it turned being chic into such an accessible thing. These models have all worked with brilliant photographers and this time they took charge of their own photoshoot, with only a basic point+shoot camera. The thing Terry Richardson did best, the girls didn't dissappoint us either. Speaking of, I also love how we are able to get a close-up look at the back of the glamourous model life - of course, while some delivered exceptional works, there were also uhh, so-so ones. You really can recognise the different amount of effort being put into the project, and something even crueler, the talent. Here's a few of my favourites :

by Miranda Kerr
I love how this photoshoot is so refreshing, energetic but still able to keep that effortless sexiness of her. The rawness of the film also makes these photos as cute as freshly-baked cupcakes

by Abbey Lee Kershaw
I'm buying it. Because I have a fetish for obscure shocking images with food in it... and because it's Abbey Lee. Hands down.

by Mina Shin
Only one question: How can anyone ever be so beautiful? I think I'm going to have to start watching Korean dramas just for her sake. On the side note, I adore the warmth in this shoot. Really pretty.

You can view the rest of the project here.
Other participants include Sasha, Candice Swanepoel, Hanneli and others.

Inspiration | Aubin & Wills Spring 2012 featuring Alex James and Irina Lazareanu

It's finally weekend. Well it really wouldn't matter that much to me - weekend or weekdays - given my current holiday status as an unemployed uni student.

However as my months-long holiday almost comes to an end, I probably should start distinguishing the different shapes between my head and the pillows on my bed, or rather start functioning so I won't become a pillow.

[rants]

Anyways.

So when I came across this new Aubin & Wills campaign here few days ago, I immediately decided that this is what my future weekends are going to look like for this entire year. I want to:

1. Wake up to guitar on my bed and a good morning stretch

2. Go for a stroll in the city

3. Read (with or without cats)

4. Take photos like this

5. Do all things stated above wearing clothes as pretty as the ones in the photos

Happy weekend!

OOTD | the cat boy

I also just realised at this point, that the detailing on the shirt is SO effing cute. Look again if you haven't figured it out. I'm so naming my future cat Jucy.

These shoes were inherited from my lovely mum's closet. I love how classy they remain to look today albeit being made two decades ago. A great sum up of this casual vintage look.

Today I wear:
Vintage shirt from Harry Wragg / Lawrys Farm pants / old-school Chanel suede lace-ups shoes
Tiffany & co. bracelet / ring from Lovisa

This cat shirt has been one of my favourite item for a while now. I got it at Harry Wragg, a beautiful vintage store hidden in the Melbourne alley. Besides the clothes, one other interesting thing about this store is that the shop staff all seem to have amazing memory about anyone who walked into the shopfront. And they not only recognise faces, they pick up names too.

I'm not sure how I feel about this really, because I'm usually the type of customer who tries to avoid social interactions of any kind during shopping, and the overly sassy character of the staff in Harry Wragg (somehow they all seem to share similar personalities and a hobby of dressing people up too) did put me off at first, but now I guess I just got lazy and started to let them do all the work for me.
